Seller's notes

1985 Lincoln Continental Mark VII LSCThe Lincoln Continental is without question one of the most important luxury cars in the history of the American automotive industry. From its early generations with Rolls-Royce-rivaling quality to the era-defining suicide-door cars from the early 1960s, the Continental was always a car at the cutting edge of styling and technology. The Mark VII was a personal luxury coupe that debuted in 1983 for the 1984 model year. Built on a longer version of the Fox body chassis, the car was smaller and nimbler than previous Continentals, yet it retained the luxury buyers had come to expect from the brand. This bona fide '80s classic is fantastically preserved, a well documented example that shows just barely 17k miles from new at the time of cataloging. It sold new at L&B Lincoln-Mercury in Babylon, NY on November 23, 1984, spending the majority of its life in Florida and California. Finished in Midnight Black, and complemented with a Charcoal leather interior, the car presents in knockout condition throughout, showing as a true icon of 1980s American luxury. The LSC nomenclature stands for Luxury Sports Coupe, giving the 2-door Lincoln an air of exclusivity. From the outside, the LSC was differentiated by the reduced chrome trim, with the example on offer here sporting 16-inch BBS mesh wheels and new blackwall tires.Inside, the sporting LSC featured a full console, floor shifter, and a futuristic-looking set of digital gauges, along with heavily bolstered sport seats. That said, the Mark VII still placed luxury above all else so the seats remained extremely comfortable, and the car was packed with amenities. A premium audio system with a cassette player was fitted in the center console, alongside an automatic climate control system. A digital message display gave readouts for average speed, fuel economy and other important stats, while an overhead console included an exterior thermometer, map lights, compass display and garage door opener. The moonroof, windows, mirrors and locks were, of course, electrically controlled, and the factory even fitted a keyless entry system, operated via an integrated keypad on the driver's side door.Powering the Mark VII is the same H.O. 5.0-liter fuel injected V8 found in the contemporary Mustang. Producing 140 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque, power was sent to a limited slip rear axle via a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Spent gasses exited through twin exhaust outlets, and it was the first American car to be fitted with standard 4-wheel disc brakes, fitted with ABS. Additionally, to ensure a smooth ride a factory air suspension was used, leveling the car when loaded with luggage or occupants. This example just underwent a servicing with us at Park Place and is ready to be driven and enjoyed! In the world of classic cars, finding an Italian supercar or a limited edition Corvette with low miles that has been cherished by its previous owners isn't too difficult to do. But when it comes
