It’s simply the most fun you can have with your pants on! Add an APR Stage 1 tune for a lot more giddy up and go. In town MPG 28-29. Interstate MPG 38.5. Other highways up to 44 MPG. - Purchased a New car

Fun car rides like a coal cart!
Enjoy everything about this car except the terrible ride. Overall spring-rate is great for the track but not a normal street or highway. Looks cool but rattles your eyeballs even when driven gently. We've owned 3 GTIs since '87 and enjoyed all except for this ride issue. It also causes the sunroof screen to vibrate open as you drive. - Purchased a New car

Love driving it, reliable so far.....
Gobs of low end torque makes it so easy to drive the GTI, and the 6-speed manual transmission is so much nicer than my wife's 5-speed Golf. It handles really well, and, the cabin is pretty quiet and the car is very stable even at speeds above 100 mph. I have the base model with 17-inch wheels which provide a pretty comfortable ride overall. I wouldn't get the 18-inch wheels unless they are accompanied by the dynamic chassis control. I think the ride would be too stiff without it. I'm glad I didn't get the Autobahn trim which is a lot more money. I sometimes think about the Rabbit edition, which was great value, but I didn't like the black wheels or the colour choices. Overall, I absolutely love this car, and I've had no problems with it in 7 months of ownership. One caveat on that....I don't push the car close to its limits very often, and, that may be why I've had no issues. - Purchased a New car

Gti - wow! Surprised and impressed!!
This being my first VW, I have only good things to say: surprisingly roomy, very fun to drive, quick and responsive, what a trunk! The conveniences in this car will impress w/ too many details to list, from the one-touch-down on all 4 windows, to the intuitive automatic (rain sensing) wipers. The wheel has such smooth leather and the shifter is almost perfectly shaped. Interior quality is superb, if somebody told me I was in an Audi or a BMW - I would believe them. Every trip in this car is fun, from parking w/ such a small footprint to passing traffic w/ ease. Cannot recommend this Gti enough! - Purchased a New car

a VERY versatile car; comfortable and sporty. Lots of fun to drive it. It has many features that a similarly equipped BMW or Mercedes costs twice the amount. I love how it parks itself, vertically, parallel and on an angle. - Purchased a New car

Superb Handling and Quiet Car - Worth the Money?
This was the first time I have ever driven a Golf GTI SE. I took the car on some city streets and also on the highway to get a feel for the car at lower and higher speeds. I have to say I was surprised at how well the car handled, rode, performed, and how quiet it was in the cabin. The seats were supportive and the ride was more supple than I would have expected. This car is a lot of fun to drive and the stereo provides a good sound to go along with the ride. My only negative thoughts about this car are the following: - Manual seats only and no power seats - at this price point? - No lumbar for the driver or passenger seat - didn't need it during test drive but with an SI joint issue I think I'd need it long term. - Manual select shift (in automatic) - engine seems to over-rev when downshifting. - No power sunroof shade - at this price point? Bottom line is that this car impressed me in many ways and I think it is a lot of fun to drive, a great ride, and I could be happy in this car for a daily commute or long haul trip. However, for the money there are other competitors out there that provide more bang for your buck in my opinion. - Purchased a Used car
