Bought this car and had no issues until we had the recall
Bought this car and had no issues until we had the recall for the knock sensor "fixed." Within a few days it started to die while driving and the check engine light began flashing. Checked codes and replaced spark plugs and ignition coils. Still not able to drive the car over 25 and it dies. Now throwing code for catalytic converter. There was a recall for this, but my car apparently isn't included in this recall. Not worth the money to fix it. Will never buy another kia! - Purchased a Used car

Thanksgiving Eve my Check Engine Light started flashing
Thanksgiving Eve my Check Engine Light started flashing and I didn't have ANY Acceleration so I was able to get it to the KIA Dealership to have it diagnosed. They ended up replacing a Knock Sensor, which I believe is a fancy word for the Oil Sending Unit. The following Tuesday the same thing happened to me again but this time something else triggered the Knock Sensor so the Mechanic reset some things and got it running again but told me that if it happened again I would need to replace the Engine. Well I didn't have to wait long for my answer. Last night my car broke down AGAIN! This is on the 2.0L Engine. Apparently there is noise in the Pistons causing the Knock Sensor problem. - Purchased a Used car

My beloved Soul started burning oil around 90k miles.
My beloved Soul started burning oil around 90k miles. It’s been down hill ever since. Catalytic converter, spark plugs. All the dealership will say is that it’s a known issue. I’m a second owner so the warranty doesn’t cover me. All I can do now is sell it for parts. I bought it in 2016, loved it and changed the oil faithfully. So sad. - Does not recommend

Engine problem
My 2015 kia souls motor is burning oil. I've had 3 catilitic converters put on. There's a recall on the motor for this exact problem . Kia knows what they did wrong but still won't fix my car. Due to the fact that the car was left to me when my mother passed away . I have been the driver of this car from the day my mother purchased it because she was unable to drive herself due to illness. I'm considered a 2nd owner and I've been told it had to literally blow a rod as driving . Blow a rod sounds dsngerous but i hsve to put myself and others in dsnger in order to be covered under the warranty. I'm afraid to drive it out of fear of being stranded in bad area, catching on fire or causing a wreck and hurting myself my children or other drivers. It really is such a shame kia can't resolve the problem. After all they have sold me an unsafe hazardous vehicle . Knowing they have messed up this vehicle and doing nothing shows exactly what type of company they are. Smh it's horrible knowing they're putting my life in danger yet found a way to not take responsibility its not very reputable in my opinion. Shame on them! - Purchased a New car

The car is very reliable, bigger in the inside than you would expect, rides smooth, but the best part is its perfect for shorter people. - Purchased a Used car

Class action lawsuit for Kia Soul Lemon
I bought the 2015 new in late 2014. It had about 7 recalls in that time period with expensive repairs related to loss of power that Kia said had to do with the valves and coils misfiring. Uh huh. Guess again. It made it to 102,000 miles before the engine blew. There is a class action lawsuit/settlement against Kia/Hyundai due to engine failure which the 2015 Soul falls under. As a result, the warranty is extended to 10 years or 150,000 miles. Kia has to replace my engine for free but I’ve been waiting for 2 months now with no end in sight. There is a national part shortage due to their failed crappy vehicles. If you are happy with your car so far, just wait. It won’t last. Hopefully, your engine doesn’t catch on fire and you make it alive. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE! - Purchased a New car

Very sorry , no concern about car after purchase
Don’t want to own up to their problems. Lights started flickering on and off. Talk with dealership, no recall for lights. Called Kia Business office was told that the car is out of warranty. Went on website with the questions about flickering light and saw that this has occurred in other KIAs. Very poor, would not offer any assistance other than I would have to pay!!!
