I had a 21 TLX advanced with the 2.
I had a 21 TLX advanced with the 2.0 L four-cylinder turbo and in 2023 I traded it for the TLX type S. What a shockingly different car. Granted the car probably has about 75 hp less than it should from the factory but, it’s easy to tune and mine is in the 435 hp range now. It was a great car to begin with and now it’s even better. There are a couple nagging issues with it: the brakes rattle, the Brembo brakes upfront, the pads on the inside, rattle like a bad ball joint whenever you hit a bump. The dealer couldn’t fix the problem and Acura told them “that’s the way it is, they are performance brakes“ well that’s a bunch of hog wash so I fixed it myself. Just an inexpensive shim on the inside pad and all was fixed. There are some long-term issues that IJust an inexpensive shim on the inside pad and all was fixed. There are some long-term issues that I am concerned about: the rear suspension plug for the adaptive suspension can get corroded over overtime and the entire car needs to be stripped apart to replace a wire harness. I haven’t had an issue with this, but I did grease my rear plugs just to be on the safe side. And these cars are known to have transfer case issues, resulting in a transmission replacement. Again, I haven’t had that issue, but the car only has 9000 miles on it. Just things that I am concerned about long-term as it seems Honda/Acura reliability, even though better than anything out there, isn’t what it used to be. But this is a fantastic car! And I would absolutely buy it again. - Purchased a New car

I bought a brand new 2023 Acura TLX from Acura Carland
I bought a brand new 2023 Acura TLX from Acura Carland last April. That is when my nightmare began. The finance manager, "Bo" assured me that because I bought a service contract, I would get a loaner every time I brought the car in for service. I have never been given a loaner. With less than 25,000 miles on the car, the dashboard began flashing that all systems had failed and then..........it died. The last message it flashed was that I needed to bring it to the dealer. I did and the only thing the dealler asked me was if I had an appointment. - Purchased a New car

Just an OK, falls behind competition
Honestly, pretty disappointed. I remembered the 3.5 TL from before and just naturally assumed this new one got to be better. So, the good things are 1) the Advance TLX is loaded with features and generally a decent value 2) the ergonomics are decent...3) The expected reliability should be good.. Now, some major disappointments 1) the 2.0 Tech engine performance is decent, but it is loud, unrefined and thirsty...I rarely got to 28 mpg, 24 mpg combined (for comparison by 200 lb heavier 3.0 turbo BMW 540X was over 34 mpg on same trips and 27 mpg combined). Steering in short radius is couch-like, not sharp as it should be in sport sedans 2) The TLX is terrible loud on the highway going over 60 mph (wind noise, road noise, engine noise) 3) Quality of cabin material and the car overall feels cheap. I had a Honda Accord in 2011 and it felt more quality. This Acura model is behind Lexus, Infinity and the German brands. The back seat was too tight for the larger sedan segment 4) The infotainment system is just terrible; it feels ancient and unrefined... The touch mouse pad is a terrible idea and does not work on the go...Bluetooth connection been pretty unstable, very annoying In the end, if you get the TLX pretty cheap it may fit the bill. The older TL was a more fun vehicle to drive imo. I traded the car in after 2 months of owning, just too many annoyances for the car that cost $45K in the sports car segment with lots of competition - Purchased a New car

Disappointed
As a lifelong Honda Accord owner, I decided now was time to move up to something sportier. The Acura TLX was the natural progression. I’d always been satisfied with the Honda ride and quality, so their luxury line (Acura) was the safe bet. The car’s body and appearance is stunning. I regularly get compliments from strangers. The Type S 3.0L turbo delivers when called upon. My issue with the 2023 Acura TLX Type S is the known issue that Acura refers to as “Brake Judder.” The car groans on slow speed turns. The worse thing is that Acura appears to have no solution to fix the underlying problem. I’ve had the car into the dealer. They said they need the car for an extended time to duplicate the issue. This is not convenient for me. I live 60 miles from the closest dealership. I’m a busy person and expected more from a $55K car. - Purchased a New car

TLX Type S
Ordered this vehicle TLX Type S from the dealership. Fit and finish are terrible. The car arrived with water sitting in the headlight. The headlight and tail light were out. The panel above the lights and in front of the hood was misaligned and had a broken mounting clip. The hood has a slight hump on the passenger side so the hood sits higher then the quarter panel along the reveal where the to panels meet. The bolts on the front quarter panels were starting to rust due to damaged paint and looked like they were adjusted after factory paint. The car hesitates when talking off. The car now has an Emissions System Problem error code and waiting to get into the dealer to find our what is wrong, and no loaner car available. - Purchased a New car
