I bought this car used in 2017 and it was great until
I bought this car used in 2017 and it was great until about 2019 when I had to replace the MAP because it was reading out of range. Then, less than three months later I had to replace the new one, and then another six months and the same code was back. I started to research it and it turns out the ECM was not programmed properly for the gasoline 2.5 I-5. I looked into getting it reprogrammed by VW and they wanted over $800 to reprogram it. By the time I figured this out I also found that it didn't actually fix the problem according to several threads on VW forums. Now it is sitting 170 miles from home because the TCM completely fried out and in my research it turns out the MAP sensor issue causes it. If you are looking at one now in 2025 you are most likely inheriting a litany of issues that have just had a bandaid slapped on them to get it to sell. When it works it is great, the interior is deceptively roomie, it has surprising about of get up and go and amazing handling, when it doesn't work you are looking at at least $2000 or more in repairs unless you have all of the tools (specialized one included) to take the car apart, and the space to do it and even then it will be at least $1000 in parts if you are lucky. Definitely skip this one if you are looking at the gasoline model. - Purchased a Used car

I purchased this car to replace a hail damaged car in our Texas storm it is a tdi it gets insane mileage it's very sturdy like a little tank lots of cargo space Zippy little car does not look like every other car on the road pretty happy with it so far - Purchased a Used car

Reliable car. Just not my style
Great reliable vehicle. Except itvonly takes diesel fuel. So more at the pump. And this dpf light pops on my dashboard if i dont take a 50mile trip everymonth. That forces me to add unnecessary miles to it - Purchased a Used car

Fun, sporty, great fuel efficiency and storage
My favorite car I've ever owned. The diesel engine provides a lot of zip. It handles really well. I average 40 mpg on the interstate. The hatch back and fold-down seats provide plenty of storage room. The interior has a great high-quality feel and the speaker system is crisp and clear. The seats are not the most comfortable for long drives, but don't result in any pain or discomfort. - Purchased a Used car

So far, pretty awesome
Never owned a diesel vehicle, but it kinda rocks. It's solid and has everything we need. Diesel driving gives power, longevity, and pretty sweet mileage. About the only thing we missed out on was a back-up camera. - Purchased a Used car

Great car, TDI winter issues
I love this car, performance is great, even with the emission fixes. The only issue I have with it is condensation freezing up in the intercooler. I can't believe that VW did not really fix this issue at all. With a little modification, I hope to take care of this myself. - Purchased a Used car

This car is comfortable, has plenty of power (diesel 2.0 TDI), stylish and gets great gas mileage. Leg and head room is great (I am 6'1") and with the rear seats folding flat, it has fantastic trunk space - Purchased a Used car

This rides better than my wife's Hundia. I don't see the trans lag as a problem. someone broke the Glove box latch but otherwise, it is Great. - Purchased a Used car

2013 Jetta Wagen TDI
We had owned a Passat TDI SEL and after the emissions scandal we sold it back to VW. I missed the torque and mileage of the 2.0 diesel and went to Crown Motors in Holland, Michigan to test drive the car. Fell in love with the response of the diesel once again and bought it! The diesel fix did not quench the quickness or the mpg of this car. A Four hour drive home later we had gotten 42.5 mpg driving 75! - Purchased a Used car
