Despite the scary looking recalls my 2023 AWD Pro-s model
Despite the scary looking recalls my 2023 AWD Pro-s model has been 99.9% reliable. In comparison to my previous 2021 ID.4 pro-s which had several annoying system failures that necessitated immediate trips to the dealership. However the 2021 pro-s has the folding mirror option which I had expected to get in the 2023 pro-s but was very dissatisfied to learn it had been remover and put in the ‘+’ package. The mirror option should be offered as a standalone upgrade to all non ‘+’ 2023 and 2024 models as no $50k plus car should be without it. - Does recommend this car

Think about this VW ID.4 2023 or 2024
2023 VW ID.4 PRO S. 1 year this July of 24, 16000 miles. Before the latest software update of 3.1 or 3.5 we could the full state of charge was 300 Miles. After the update, the max SOC dropped to 253. But many software problems were fix. The 12V battery is stronger than the 2021 (they were updated later). Fast charge to 80% is 35 minutes or less. I charge at home in Arizona we have solar with SUNRUN. We installed a 50amp this provides us with using WALLBOX 11kw so for example, today Apr 8, 2024. to charge at home from 18% SOC to 80% took rounding up 3 hours. Not bad. March Electicy bill was $40. No expense for fuel and money saved. - Purchased a New car

Great value the public is yet to discover.
After 9 months and 19,000 miles including 5 road trips, I have no buyer’s remorse at all! I love this car. Charging speed is good. The most comfortable car seats I’ve ever sat in. Build quality is rock solid. Very smooth and quiet on the highway. Lots of standard features at a reasonable price. Travel Assist works great, I use it all the time. Efficiency averaging 4 mi/kWh. I don’t know why VW isn’t advertising these like crazy. It’s one of the best values in the EV market today. - Purchased a New car

Outstanding car!
I have had a great experience with my ID.4 thus far! The instant torque, interior design and lighting, the easy viewpoints for both my 6’2” husband and my 5’3” frame. The AWD is VERY responsive and I thoroughly enjoy driving in any kind of weather. The only thing I don’t like is that the charging port doesn’t always release the charging cable so I have to use the release handle located in the cargo area infrequently. - Purchased a New car

Teutonic excellence built in Tennessee
I have the 2023 ID.4 only a short time, but I am impressed. It performs better than I hoped for. No buyer's remorse here. Very comfortable, quiet ride, everything works perfect, no issues. Changed from a 2018 Tiguan I loved to the ID.4---I drive only app. 400-500 Miles /month so an EV works perfect for me. - Purchased a New car

Great Value
It’s awesome! I had 5 Mercedes in a row and bought this ID4 because I wanted an EV. It has been awesome so far. Very very quiet! And comfortable. With a great audio system. And I will NEVER go to a gas station again! The one issue is VW has chosen to NOT provide charging cables. No idea why. They hit you up for $350 to buy them. Meanwhile my wife bought a Mach E and Ford includes them as part of the purchase. Go figure. But I love the car! - Purchased a New car

Terrible ac and battery recall trouble
Ac doesn't work well in summer. VW HAS A BATTERY RECALL that we can't get an appt for. Customer service is horrible. Not worth the money, I own a Nissan leaf EV and it's much better. - Purchased a New car

ID.4 so far so good
As an engineer, I can understand some buyer's complaints with respect to the UI and software operations. However, I find the ID.4 easy to operate and fun to drive for an SUV. It's not flashy or over the top, but it does a great job at what I bought it for - transportation. I think all EVs are overpriced but I'm an early adopter and willingly paid. Unlike many others, I have no axe to grind with Tesla, Kia, Chevy, Ford or any other EV maker. Drive what you like and don't make it some weird "I'm right" war of words. - Purchased a New car

My dream car
I've been eying an EV for a couple years and like VW products. Every VW I've owned was solid, low maintenance, comfortable and so smooth to drive. I had read about VW making a few changes to the ID.4 over the '21 and '22 models and felt confident about purchasing a new one in '23. I've had it for a couple months now and absolutely LOVE it. The Infotainment screen is intuitive and easy to handle, and the perfect size and position (not as distracting as the large screen in Tesla models). The learning curve was surprisingly small. No issues charging or operating. I absolutely love this car. Highly recommend it. - Purchased a New car

Level 2 charging problem is the one drawback
This was my dream car for five years. I followed it when it was a concept car called the Crozz and watched every video I could on it. I ordered in June 2022 and purchased January 2023. I have had it a month and it is a beautiful car, inside and out. I do find the technology a bit daunting, but I suppose I will eventually figure it all out. The downside is that after only three weeks the level two charging capability in the car itself stopped working. My other electric car charges just fine on our level 2 home charger but the ID 4 would no longer take a charge. It was quite a hassle at the dealer since when they charged it on their fast charger, Level 3, it charged fine, so I was told there was no problem. I drove around to various free level 2 chargers all over town to try it and at none of them would my car take a charge. I finally took it back to the dealer and found they had a level 2 charger which the service department did not tell me about. As I attempted to connect to it some of their technicians came out and were astonished to find that, lo and behold! .... it would not take a charge on a level 2 charger... just as I originally told the service department. So, a part has been ordered that will arrive in a month and I now go the dealer once a week and wait while they fast charge my car on their level 3 charger so I can get around for the week. This is my third electric car and this problem has never surfaced, so I hope I did not get a lemon. I like all the other features of the car and I am hopeful that this part will solve the problem. - Purchased a New car
