Cars.com's Dave Thomas takes a look at the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander.
Transcript
I'm Dave Thomas with cars.com. And this is the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander compact SUV.
It's a value leader in the segment, competes directly against the Honda CRV and the Toyota RAV4, but it starts a little less for front wheel or four wheel drive models. Also comes with a 220 horsepower V6 engine standard across the line. The Outlander has a very convenient cargo area. Hatch goes up like that. And it has an extendable lower section so you can load cargo easily and get it out easily. The seats fold forward instead of folding flat into the floor, but it still works with one easy motion; one latch moves them right up and locks them into place. Cargo area is about 72 cubic feet with the rear seats folded forward. And as you can see, it's an expansive area with a really flat floor. So you can put in bikes or other cargo pretty easily. Where you really notice the Outlander's lower price is in the interior, which features a lot of bulky plastic which is echoey, and just doesn't have a sound or feel of quality to it. What a lot of buyers might like about the Outlander is it's sporty nature. Drives much more like a car than an SUV. It's got an aluminum roof, so it's lightweight, lower center of gravity. It's a lot of fun to drive. <v Narrator>For additional information on this car or any other, go to cars.com and our blog KickingTires.
