Toyota is updating the Sienna for the 2025 model year and even though the minivan still has its standard hybrid drivetrain and available front or all-wheel drive, it gets five key changes that'll be important to families.
Let's take a closer look at those. The first change is that the Sienna now comes standard with an advanced rear seat reminder that is standard for all the trim levels, and it features a radar sensor that's focused over the second and third rows of the vehicle. And it's designed to detect movement so if you lock your vehicle and walk away, it'll offer increasing levels of alerts if there's something still moving in the vehicle. And those alerts can include flashing lights, honking horn, to an automated text message or phone call, and it works with the Toyota Safety Connect system, which comes with a 10 year trial as part of buying the Sienna. The next two family-friendly features are accessible right here in the second row. There's this refrigerator, which is pretty decent sized. There's six of these water bottles in it right now. In addition to a refrigeration mode, it also has a freezer mode so you can keep things frozen while you're driving, which is kind of unique compared to some of the other cool boxes you may have seen in other vehicles. In addition to that, it also has a... (vacuum cleaner whirring) Yep, vacuum cleaner. So it's located up here also in the console, different than some competitors that put it back in the cargo area. But it's got three different attachments here, this removable hose and also a filter that you can clean out and replace what's collected in the vacuum. Bear in mind though, it's just designed for cleaning up dry messes, not anything that might be wet. So the other important changes are upfront and you can see 'em right in the center of the vehicle. The Sienna is the last Toyota vehicle to get the Toyota audio multimedia system. Toyota's latest multimedia technology that's been rolling out across the lineup for the past few years. Most of the trim levels of the Sienna get a 12.3 inch screen. That's what's in this platinum trim level we're in right now. The base LE version gets an eight-inch screen. But along with the updated multimedia tech, you also get wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is a nice feature to have. If you've used it before, you don't have to plug in your phone when you're getting in and out and you want to use that connectivity. Also kind of to compliment that, the Sienna gets an updated wireless phone charger, which offers better charging capability, and that's located right up here in front of the shifter on this device shelf and also miscellaneous storage shelf. The Sienna's hybrid drivetrain gives it good efficiency. It's rated at 36 miles per gallon combined with front-wheel drive and 35 miles per gallon combined when you get all-wheel drive. The Toyota Sienna goes on sale this fall and pricing will be announced closer to its on sale date. If you wanna learn more about the Toyota Sienna, you can see all about it at cars.com/news.
