2019-2020 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 Multimedia Display: Recall Alert

Manufacturer image

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 318,500 vehicles that include model-year 2019-20 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with 8.4-inch or 12-inch multimedia displays

The Problem: A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of Reverse, which can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will update the display software for free.

What Owners Should Do: Ram parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners May 22. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
