2019-2020 Ram 1500 Adjustable Pedals: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 160,200 model-year 2019-20 Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with adjustable pedals
The Problem: The adjustable pedals may be positioned in a location that affords insufficient clearance with all-weather floormats, interfering with the accelerator pedal while driving and increasing the risk of a crash.
Ram parent Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said it is unaware of any related accidents or injuries. It also noted that these and all FCA vehicles since 2011 are equipped with brake-throttle override, which enables continuous brake pedal application to automatically overcome simultaneous accelerator pedal application.
The Fix: Affected customers will receive recall notices. In the interim, FCA advises those who ordered all-weather mats as a factory-installed item to contact their dealers, who will modify the mats pending replacement with a new design.
Should owners observe insufficient accelerator pedal clearance or they are unable to visit their dealers in a timely fashion, FCA recommends they remove their all-weather floormats until they obtain service.

Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
