2020 BMW 3 Series and Z4, Toyota Supra: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 250 model-year 2020 BMW 330i sedans, Z4 M40i and Z4 sDrive30i sports cars, and Toyota Supra sports cars (the Z4 and Supra were codeveloped by BMW and Toyota based on a shared platform)

The Problem: The headlight control units may fail, causing a loss of one or both of the headlights, reducing the driver’s visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the headlight control units for free.

What Owners Should Do: BMW will begin notifying owners Jan. 17. BMW owners can call the automaker at 800-525-7417 and Toyota owners at 888-270-9371, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
