2024 Chrysler Pacifica Gets New Colors, Trims Lineup, Priced From $40,685

Chrysler invented the minivan for 1984. Forty years later, the segment has boomed and faded, and Chrysler is again the only American brand selling minivans. For the 2024 model year, the Pacifica is little changed, with new interior and exterior colors available and simplified trim-level offerings for the plug-in hybrid.

Powertrain Specs and MPG
In addition to being the only domestic-brand minivan left, the Pacifica is the only minivan currently available with either a gas engine or a PHEV powertrain. The standard setup is a 287-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 making 262 pounds-feet of torque; it’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. With front-wheel drive, the gas Pacifica is EPA-rated for 19/28/22 mpg city/highway/combined; with optional all-wheel drive, those figures drop to 17/25/20 mpg.
The plug-in Pacifica Hybrid combines a version of the same 3.6-liter V-6 with a pair of electric motors and a continuously variable automatic transmission. Only available with FWD, the hybrid system generates a total of 260 hp. It’s capable of traveling 32 miles on electricity alone, after which it’s rated at 30 mpg combined.
Availability and Pricing
The 2024 Pacifica is on sale now. Chrysler offers the gas-powered van in three exclusive trim levels: Touring, Touring L and Limited; the PHEV gets one exclusive trim level, the Select; and the top-of-the-line Pinnacle trim can be had with either powertrain. The Pacifica Hybrid is one of relatively few vehicles that still qualifies for the maximum $7,500 tax credit after stricter requirements took effect for 2024. Full pricing, not factoring in the tax credit but including $1,595 for destination, is as follows:
Pacifica
- Touring: $40,995
- Touring L: $44,655
- Limited: $51,925
- Pinnacle: $57,585
Pacifica Hybrid
- Select: $55,020
- Pinnacle: $63,750
Trim Levels and Safety Equipment
Standard safety and driver-assist equipment across the Pacifica line includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure steering assist, blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams and rear parking sensors.
In addition, the Touring rides on 17-inch wheels and gets LED front lighting, power-sliding side doors, a power rear liftgate, and keyless entry and starting. Inside, it boasts three-zone automatic climate control, heated steering wheel and front seats, power driver’s seat, cloth upholstery, ambient lighting, Chrysler’s fold-flat Stow ‘n Go second-row seats, six speakers, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The L in Touring L might stand for “leatherette,” as synthetic leather seating is the only major difference in standard equipment between the Touring and Touring L. The latter does, however, open access to more standard equipment, as well as optional AWD.
The hybrid-only Select trim level mirrors the Touring L for the most part, but it gets standard second-row captain’s chairs. While the third-row seats in both the gas-powered and hybrid Pacificas fold flat, the second row does not in the hybrid.
Chrysler starts to load the Pacifica up with luxury features at the Limited trim level, which rides on 18-inch wheels and features a panoramic moonroof. Inside, it boasts Nappa leather, power passenger seat, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a power-folding third row, navigation and a 13-speaker Alpine sound system.
The appropriately named Pinnacle trim rolls on 20-inch wheels in gas-powered form, while the PHEV sticks with 18s in the interest of efficiency. It also adds hands-free power side doors and liftgate, quilted leather, an integrated vacuum, 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system (20 speakers in the hybrid) and 10.1-inch seatback touchscreens with wireless headphones, Blu-ray/DVD player (not in the hybrid) and HDMI inputs. A 360-degree camera system and automated parking are standard on the Pinnacle and optional on the Touring L and above.
