1.2 Million 2018-2019 Nissan and Infiniti Cars, Trucks, SUVs and Vans: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1.2 million model-year 2018-19 Nissan Altima, Maxima, Sentra and Versa sedans; Frontier and Titan pickup trucks; Kicks, Versa Note and Leaf hatchbacks; Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue and Rogue Sport SUVs; NV and NV200 work vans; Infiniti Q50 sedans; Q60 coupes; and QX30 and QX80 SUVs; and model-year 2019 Nissan GT-R sports cars; Taxi vans; Infiniti QX50 and QX60 SUVs; and Q70 and Q70L sedans
The Problem: The backup camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rearview image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in Reverse. The lack of a backup camera display image increases the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will update the backup camera settings software for free.
What Owners Should Do: Nissan will notify owners in phases beginning Oct. 21, with all affected vehicles activated by Nov. 11. Owners can call Nissan at 800-867-7669, Infiniti at 800-662-6200, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
