2017 Ford F-150

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 90,000 model-year 2015-17 Ford F-150 crew-cab pickup trucks built at the Dearborn Assembly Plant in Michigan and at the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri between July 20, 2015, and June 16, 2017, and approximately 28,000 model-year 2017 Super Duty F-250 and F-350 pickups built at the Kentucky Truck Plant between Oct. 20, 2015, and June 16, 2017. The 2017 Ford F-150 is also involved in another recall regarding airbag inflators; for more information on that click here.

The Problem: A weak rivet may allow separation of the left rear inflatable seat belt buckle from its mounting bracket during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the thickness of the left rear seat belt buckle assembly rivet head and will replace the seat belt buckle assembly if the rivet is found to be inadequate.

What Owners Should Do: Ford has not yet released an owner-notification schedule. Owners can call Ford at 866-436-7332 for more information.
