Vehicles Affected: Approximately 133,000 model-year 2015-17 Mitsubishi Outlander SUVs; model-year 2015-16 Lancer sedans and Outlander Sport SUVs; and model-year 2015 Lancer Evolution sedans
The Problem: Defective relays can result in an engine stall, reduced power or an engine overheating, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected relays for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mitsubishi will begin notifying owners Nov. 28. Owners can call the automaker at 888-648-7820, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
