2016 Jeep Renegade Goes to the Dark Side with 'Batman v Superman' Special Edition

CARS.COM — The billionaire Bruce Wayne of the Batman universe would far more likely drive a $230,000 Bentley Bentayga than a Jeep Renegade at roughly one-ninth the price. But such logic doesn’t apply to cross-promotional marketing campaigns, thus the arrival of the 2016 Renegade Dawn of Justice Special Edition.

The Batman-themed subcompact SUV swoops into showrooms this month just in time for the premiere of DC Entertainment’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” on March 25. The special edition is available now at dealerships for $27,245, including destination. It’s based on the Renegade Latitude 4×4 trim level, which starts at $24,390.

The Dawn of Justice Renegade is available in Granite Crystal, but let’s face it, if you’re interested in a Dark Knighted-out car you’re gonna want the Dark Knighted-out Carbon Black to go with the 18-inch gloss black wheels that match the exterior’s gloss black trim. There’s also a “Batman v Superman” badge at the right rear above the bumper that combines the Caped Crusader’s classic bat symbol with the Man of Steel’s “S” shield. The black-as-night theme extends to the cabin with black cloth seats and gloss black finishes, along with metal diamond accents throughout.

A 30-second promotional video launching this week shows Bruce Wayne driving a black Renegade through chaos and destruction amid an explosive attack on the city. The voice of Jeremy Irons, who plays Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred, narrates the ad, saying, “We need you to rush in when everyone else is running away.”
