When it comes to its sedan siblings, Nissan is keeping it in the family. The redesigned-for-2016 Nissan Sentra was unveiled today at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show bearing a striking resemblance to the larger Altima and even-larger Maxima. The Sentra’s focal point — the Sentra of attention, if you will — is its updated front end, which trades a flattened hood for a wavier one with contour lines running from top of the grille surround and connecting with the C-pillars.
It also spruces up its rather plain former face with a busier arrangement of character lines, a chain-link grille and more skeptical-looking headlights with LED surrounds that create a bifurcated effect, like a villain’s downward-pointed eyebrows. Large fog lights now dominate the inlets just ahead of the front wheels, above which the front fenders take on a curvier, more flared appearance. Inside are sporty, ventilated black-leather seats with white contrast stitching, a stitched steering wheel, soft-touch surfaces around the instrument panel and door armrests, and a reworked high-res LCD display.
