2017-2018 Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG C-Class: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 22,600 model-year 2017-18 Mercedes-Benz C300 coupes and cabriolets, Mercedes-AMG C43 coupes and cabriolets, Mercedes-AMG C63 coupes and cabriolets, and model-year 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 coupes and cabriolets
The Problem: The seatbacks of the front seats may not properly lock on the right side of the seat, which could mean they fold forward in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the locking of the seatback and replace the seatback lock, as necessary, for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes will begin notifying owners April 26. Owners can call the automaker at800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
