Vehicles Affected: Approximately 4,800 model-year 2017-18 Mercedes-Benz E400 wagons, model-year 2019 E450 wagons and model-year 2018-19 Mercedes-AMG E63S wagons, all equipped with all-wheel drive
The Problem: The rear spoiler may detach, which could become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.
Mercedes-Benz noted this is an expansion of a previous recall affecting 16 vehicles from November 2018.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect and correct the mounting of the spoiler, as necessary, for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners Oct. 18. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
