CARS.COM β If you want to go fast in a sedan without paying a luxury premium, your choices are very limited. Dodge has a new option, however: the Charger Daytona.
Sadly, there’s no skyscraping wing like its namesake, but the Charger Daytona makes up for it with modern-day aerodynamics that will leave you grinning once you mash the gas pedal. No Dodge performance car would be complete without the availability of some wild graphics, including Hemi hood tape and Daytona graphics on the rear fenders. There’s also a Daytona badge on the grille.
The car sits on 20-inch wheels wrapped in tires even wider than what’s offered on the R/T trim. Under the hood, you’ll find either a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 or a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. The larger of the two engines (aka the 392) makes 485 horsepower and 475 pounds-feet of torque. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
While the Charger Daytona is available in several wild, eye-popping colors, our test model was painted Destroyer Grey. It’s a great color for the car and adds an extra hint of menace to the Charger. Check out the gallery above for more.
