2017 Volkswagen Jetta Review: Photo Gallery

CARS.COM — The 2017 Volkswagen Jetta has plenty to offer families shopping for a compact sedan, namely a palatable appearance, sufficient performance and ample trunk space. But the current generation is also getting a bit long in the tooth — with its last meaningful update for the 2015 model year — so it’s about time for a refresh inside and out.

We recently pitted a pack of segment rivals against one another for Cars.com’s 2017 Compact Sedan Challenge, the Jetta 1.4T SE among them. Our White Silver Metallic test car wore 16-inch alloy wheels; LED daytime running lights; heated, foldable, power adjustable side mirrors; and a power tilting and sliding sunroof.

The cabin was appointed with black leatherette upholstery; a leather-wrapped steering wheel, brake lever and shift knob, and heated front seats. Tech features of the tester included a backup camera, blind spot monitoring with rear traffic alert, a 6.3-inch multimedia touchscreen and Volkswagen’s App-Connect smartphone integration system.
The total price came to $22,815, including an $820 destination charge; that’s compared to the Jetta 1.4T SE’s $21,715 base price with destination. The Jetta is generally pretty spendy compared with competitors, but to see how it stood up to them in our Compact Sedan Challenge, check back soon. In the meantime, check out the photo gallery above.
