2018 Ford Mustang: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,100 model-year 2018 Ford Mustang sports cars manufactured between March 14 and Nov. 26, 2017, at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan, and equipped with automatic transmission premium 12.4-inch instrument cluster
The Problem: The PRNDL (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Low) display may not illuminate if the vehicle is turned off in a position other than Park, and the driver may not receive the warning chime when the door is opened, increasing the risk of a rollaway.
Ford is unaware of any injuries or accidents associated with this issue.
The Fix: Dealers will update the instrument cluster software for free.
What Owners Should Do: Ford did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule. Owners can call the automaker at 866-436-7332, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
