2019 Volkswagen Arteon Video: Artful Blend of Sport and Comfort

After a long wait, we finally got our hands on a 2019 Volkswagen Arteon, the automaker’s new flagship sedan. It competes against the Kia Stinger and the Toyota Avalon, and it splits the difference between those models’ sport and comfort bias.

Outside, the Arteon looks like a premium car, with some sleek styling cues borrowed from Audi. We tested the R-Line version and it comes with some extra sporty flourishes outside that make it pop.

Inside, materials quality is great, and it looks and feels like something in the luxury class – without a luxury price tag. The model we tested is fully loaded at around $47,000.

Space is another high point. It’s the spiritual successor to the Volkswagen CC and is roomier than that model, especially in backseat space and in trunk room.

But it’s not all about looks. How does it drive? It depends on where you drive it. Watch the video for more.
