2019 Volkswagen Arteon Video Review

CARS.COM — If Volkswagen’s new sedan reminds you of the automaker’s CC, it should. The 2019 Arteon will take the CC’s place in VW’s lineup. We got to take a close look at the Arteon after its North American debut at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show.

Overall, the Arteon is roughly the same size as the CC, with seating for five. Outside, the Arteon’s styling strikes a more premium look with LED daytime running lights and plenty of blingy chrome. Like the CC, the Arteon will slot above the Passat in terms of price, but one big change is that it’s technically a hatchback.

Inside, the Arteon’s materials and design impart a premium feel with lots of soft touch materials and plenty of padding for knees and elbows. In terms of room, headroom is plentiful in the backseat despite the model’s sloping roofline. The roofline does hurt visibility, however.

An 8-inch multimedia screen is standard on all models, and it includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We’re also fans of the setup’s physical volume and tuning knobs. Optional features include the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit and a head-up display.
