Vehicles Affected: Approximately 300 model-year 2020-21 BMW X5 and X5M, X6 and X6M, and X7 SUVs
The Problem: The headlights may allow a blue light to illuminate, confusing oncoming drivers and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the headlights and replace them, as necessary, for free.
What Owners Should Do: BMW will begin notifying owners Oct. 26. Owners can call the automaker at 800-525-7417, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
