Getting into a car crash is bad enough without the added risk of losing a windshield, but it’s just such an issue automaker Stellantis is hoping to resolve in a new recall for more than 21,000 Chrysler 300s, Dodge Chargers and Dodge Challengers.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2020-21 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans and Dodge Challenger coupes. During manufacturing, the windshield may not have been properly bonded to the vehicle, allowing it to detach in a crash and increasing the risk of injury.
To resolve the issue, dealers will remove and replace the windshield urethane sealant for free. Stellantis will begin notifying owners Aug. 27, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
