A mid-engine sports car, family SUV and reimagined pickup truck took home coveted awards today from an influential panel of automotive industry experts. The North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year jury — comprising scores of journalists, including two Cars.com editors — awarded top honors to the redesigned 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, the all-new 2020 Kia Telluride and the reimagined-and-resurrected 2020 Jeep Gladiator.

The organization’s membership spans dozens of media outlets to comprise 50 automotive journalists, including Cars.com’s Joe Wiesenfelder and me, Kelsey Mays. The group has issued annual awards for a car and truck since 1994, splitting off utility vehicles — a category that includes SUVs and minivans — from trucks beginning in 2017. Like Cars.com’s annual Best Of and Pickup Truck of the Year awards, NACTOY’s awards draw from the dozens of new or redesigned models each year.

Finalists for the car award were the Chevrolet Corvette, Hyundai Sonata and Toyota Supra. Finalists for the utility vehicle were the Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride and Lincoln Aviator. Finalists for truck were the Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator and Ram 2500/3500.

Stay tuned for Cars.com’s own Best Of awards, which we’ll announce in February. See the nominees below, as well as our nominees for three categories that can include carryover models: the best family, luxury and fun-to-drive cars.
