The 2023 Nissan Sentra is entering the new model year largely unchanged, with the brand focusing its attention on the pricing ladder. The compact sedan remains an affordable choice and now has a starting price of $21,045 (all pricing includes a $1,095 destination fee).
The exterior of the 2023 Sentra carries over, with the model still borrowing traits from its bigger Altima sibling, including the V-Motion grille and sleek headlights. While the S variant comes with standard 16-inch steel wheels, the SV and SR trims add alloy wheels ranging from 16 to 18 inches; the SR Midnight Edition gets black 18-inch wheels and black exterior accents.
Inside, the Sentra keeps its standard 7-inch touchscreen, and the SV and SR trims swap it out for a bigger 8-inch unit; both systems feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite of safety and driver-assistance technology is also standard and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, high beam assist, rear automatic braking and rear cross-traffic alert.
Performance for the 2023 Sentra still comes from a 149-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard. The S and SV trims get an EPA-rated 29/39/33 mpg city/highway/combined, while the SR’s mileage dips slightly to 28/37/32 mpg.
