Chevrolet’s subcompact Trailblazer SUV gets a couple of nice upmarket touches for 2024, including an 11-inch infotainment screen, 8-inch digital gauge cluster and greater visual differentiation between its four trim levels. The base LS, LT, Activ and RS trim levels each wear unique front ends now, as well as distinct wheel designs.
Cruise control, keyless starting and a high-definition rearview camera are now standard across the line. Also standard on every 2024 Trailblazer is Chevy Safety Assist, which includes lane departure steering assist and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available.
Specs and MPG
Chevy offers two engines in the Trailblazer. A 137-horsepower, turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder that makes 162 pounds-feet of torque is standard in the LS and LT. Optional on the LS and LT but standard on the Activ and RS trims is a turbocharged 1.3-liter good for 155 hp and 174 pounds-feet. A continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive are standard on all trim levels, but if you opt for all-wheel drive — available on all trims — you also get a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 1.2-liter hasn’t been rated by the EPA yet, but it isn’t likely to move much from the 2023 model’s fuel economy of 29/31/30 mpg city/highway/combined. The EPA has rated the 2024 1.3-liter models: Front-drive models get 29/33/31 mpg, and AWD nets 26/29/27 mpg.
