2024 Kia Sportage Gets Minor Updates, Starts at $28,415
Fresh from an extensive overhaul for 2023 that added more features, a little extra horsepower and bold exterior styling, Kia has announced its five-seat Sportage compact SUV will have a starting price for 2024 of $28,415 with destination — $800 more than 2023 Sportage’s current prices.

For the new model year, Kia has made second-row side-mounted airbags and LED headlights standard, and gone is the all-wheel-drive SX variant. While the price of the 2024 Sportage has ticked upward, it still remains a solid bargain up against strong rivals that include the Honda CR-V, Ford Bronco Sport, Toyota RAV4, Chevrolet Equinox and Subaru Forester.
Trim Levels
For 2024, there are seven trims to choose from, and each comes with a 187-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The four lower trims — LX, EX, SX and SX Prestige — come standard with front-wheel drive, with AWD optional.
The base LX trim comes with an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth, one front USB-C port, keyless entry and cloth seats. Interestingly, when adding AWD to the LX, Kia throws in heated front seats and heated side mirrors, too. Some of the active-safety features fitted to every Sportage include automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance with cyclist detection, lane departure steering assist, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder and a driver attention monitor.
Step up to the EX trim and get desirable extras like a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, navigation, rear USB ports, blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert. The Sportage X-Line rides on 19-inch wheels and comes fitted with a roof rack, AWD, and trim-specific front and rear bumper designs. Next up, the SX adds roof rails, a power liftgate, a panoramic moonroof and dual-zone automatic climate control.
To give the Sportage a more rugged appeal, Kia introduced the X-Line and X-Pro trims for the 2023 model year; both trims add plastic body cladding and all-terrain tires, but neither is going to give a Jeep Wrangler or Ford Bronco a run for its money over rough and rugged terrain. The Sportage X-Pro comes standard with AWD, has copious amounts of exterior black plastic cladding and rides on 17-inch all-terrain tires. Sitting atop the range, the X-Pro Prestige adds ventilated front seats and an eight-way power front passenger seat.
Pricing and Release Date
Look for the gas-only versions of the 2024 Sportage to start rolling onto dealership lots later in the year. Pricing for the full lineup is below (all prices include $1,325 destination fee); FWD is standard, and AWD adds $1,800 to the bottom line. The X-Line and X-Pro trims are AWD only.

Hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants will also be available for the 2024 model year, though Kia has not yet released their pricing details.
