2024 Toyota Prius Stays Fashionable, Pricing Starts at $28,190

Toyota has announced pricing details for the 2024 Prius, the automaker’s five-seat hybrid hatchback that’s long been a standard bearer when it comes to excellent fuel efficiency. One thing the Prius is still relatively new at being, though, is an automotive fashion statement. A complete redesign for the 2023 model year added a sleek new shape that suddenly gave the Prius head-turning looks to match its impressive fuel economy. Because it’s still fresh from this makeover, there are no notable changes for the 2024 model year.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor and battery pack for a combined output of 194 horsepower; all-wheel-drive variants have 196 hp. The Prius comes standard with front-wheel drive, and AWD is available on every trim for $1,400. It returns up to an EPA-estimated 57/56/57 mpg city/highway/combined.

The 2024 Prius is available in three trims: LE, XLE and Limited. Standard on the LE variant are popular items like wireless smartphone connectivity, six USB-C ports, satellite radio and a Wi-Fi hot spot. All trims are also equipped with a sizable roster of driver aids in what Toyota calls its Safety Sense 3.0 suite of active-safety items. These include adaptive cruise control, lane departure steering assist, road sign assist and automatic high beams. Rear cross-traffic monitoring and blind spot warning are also standard.
Upgrading to the XLE adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, wireless device charging, remote keyless entry, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and front and rear parking sensors. A notable option is a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen versus the standard 8-inch display.
With the Limited trim, the larger screen is standard, as is a JBL audio system, a power rear hatch, and heated and ventilated front seats. One of the few extras available on this range-topping trim is the Limited Premium Package, which bundles advanced park assist, a 360-degree camera system, a digital rearview mirror and heated rear seats.
