2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid Priced From $89,150

Finally, here’s some inflation we can feel good about — and it comes from the most unlikely of sources. Eleven years ago, Mercedes-Benz launched the first all-wheel-drive E63 AMG. 4Matic AWD was a safeguard against the S model’s 577 horsepower, and a base price of $100,695 (all prices include destination) kept the weaponized sedan out of the hands of the untrained masses.
For the 2025 model year, Mercedes has rolled out the AMG E53 Hybrid, which also generates 577 hp — or 604 hp with the optional Race Start function, which increases output for brief periods of max-attack acceleration. But now, that power can be yours for only $89,150. Adjusted for inflation, that’s a savings of $47,600 compared to the 2014 E63.

Historical Echoes
Offsetting deflation has occurred in two areas: The 2014 model generated 590 pounds-feet of torque compared to the 2025’s 553. And a decade ago, AMG generated that output with a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 engine, the soundtrack to which was produced — rumor has it — by Bruce Dickinson in unholy cooperation with equal teams of heavenly hosts and devils. Today, that output is generated by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with a hefty electric motor tucked into its nine-speed automatic transmission.
There is, however, one other meaningful bit of inflation: With a 21.2-kilowatt-hour battery tucked in its undercarriage, the 2025 E53 Hybrid can travel up to 42 miles on electricity alone, according to the automaker. That old Benz would go 0 miles on a charge — unless it was pointed downhill.
Availability and Pricing
The 2025 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid goes on sale later this fall. Pricing is as follows:
- Base: $89,150
- Exclusive: $91,600
- Pinnacle: $93,300
Trim Levels
The mechanical pieces that make the E53 Hybrid handle like an AMG are all standard: performance-tuned AWD, rear-wheel steering and an adjustable suspension with adaptive dampers. Other standard features include a panoramic moonroof, an illuminated grille, wireless device charging, a 360-degree parking camera and a 14.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with augmented-reality navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Upgrading to the Exclusive trim adds upgraded exterior lighting, a Burmester 4D surround-sound audio system with sound-reactive ambient lighting, and noise- and heat-insulating glass.
Highlights of the Pinnacle trim include welcome and departure animations in the exterior lighting, a head-up display, four-zone automatic climate control and gesture controls for the infotainment system.
Numerous option packages allow buyers to tailor the E53 to their tastes. Those looking to maximize performance will want to consider the AMG Dynamic Plus Package, which adds upsized composite brakes with red calipers, an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential, dynamic engine mounts that stiffen to increase vehicle responsiveness, the Race Start overboost function and a higher top speed.
Buyers can also tweak the look of their E53 AMG with optional 20- and 21-inch wheels, three different exterior design packages and numerous interior upgrades, including Nappa leather, sport seats, assorted trim options and an available 12.3-inch touchscreen for the front passenger.
