2025 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: New RWD E350 Base Variant, Priced From $63,600
Having updated the E-Class for the 2024 model year with a new infotainment suite and a dashboard consumed by digital displays, Mercedes-Benz focused on the mechanical parts of its mid-size luxury sedan for 2025. New is a rear-wheel-drive version of the E350, as well as the AMG E53 Hybrid, a standard center airbag between the front seats and an available synthetic leather steering wheel.

Powertrain Specs and MPG
Like its all-wheel-drive counterpart, the E350 is powered by a mild-hybrid 255-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that generates 295 pounds-feet of torque and is backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes charges $2,500 to upgrade from the RWD E350 to the E350 4Matic. The 4Matic AWD system’s traction advantage offsets its 55-pound weight gain, with Mercedes claiming both versions can accelerate from 0-60 mph in the same 6.1 seconds. The four-cylinder returns an EPA-rated 25/33/28 mpg city/highway/combined with RWD and 24/33/27 mpg with AWD.
For $5,900 more than the E350 4Matic, buyers can step up to the E450, which is only available with AWD. This one gets a mild-hybrid 375-hp, turbo 3.0-liter inline-six that makes 369 pounds-feet of torque. It’s rated at 22/31/25 mpg and will hit 60 in 4.4 seconds, per Mercedes.
This engine also powers the E450 4Matic All-Terrain, the only station wagon in the lineup. An inch taller than the sedan, the wagon wears black lower body cladding and wheel-arch trim. It weighs about 200 pounds more than the sedan but matches its fuel-economy ratings.
Then there’s the AMG E53 Hybrid. It also employs a turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder, but between enhancements to the engine and a potent electric motor nestled into the nine-speed automatic, it pumps out a whopping 577 hp and 553 pounds-feet, sufficient to fling it to 60 mph in a manufacturer-claimed 3.9 seconds. Drawing juice from a 21.2-kilowatt-hour battery, the E53 also boasts an electric range of 42 miles.

Safety Tech and Standard Features
The E-Class’ standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic braking, blind spot monitors, a driver-attention monitor, automatic high beams, a 360-degree camera system and automated parking. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot intervention, forward cross-traffic alert, lane-centering steering with automated lane changes, emergency steering assist and a head-up display are available.
Standard luxury and tech features include LED headlights and taillights, a panoramic moonroof, keyless entry and start, heated and power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and 64-color ambient lighting. The latest-generation Mercedes-Benz infotainment system consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.4-inch touchscreen with augmented reality navigation, voice recognition, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Either through upgrading to the Pinnacle trim or by adding packages and a la carte items, buyers can add an adaptive air suspension, rear-axle steering, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, 17-speaker Burmester surround-sound system and the MBUX Superscreen, which combines the infotainment display with a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen under a single piece of glass.
