233-MPH Bargain: 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Priced From $174,995
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is all about extreme numbers big and small. In the former column are its 1,064 horsepower, 828 pounds-feet of torque and 233 mph top speed. In the latter are the claimed 2.3-second 0-60-mph acceleration, sub-10-second quarter-mile and $174,995 base price (all prices include $1,695 destination charge). That’s a premium of $58,200 over the already bonkers Corvette Z06 and about $55,000 more than Chevrolet asked for the C7 ZR1.

But what you get for that extra dough is almost beyond comprehension. The C6 Corvette Z06 arguably ushered in the modern Corvette’s supercar era with its 505-hp LS7 V-8 engine. As Cars.com Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman pointed out, the 2025 ZR1’s twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 puts out more power than two LS7s.
And to compare the ZR1 to other Corvettes is not even half the picture. It undercuts cars like the McLaren 750S and Ferrari 296 GTB by $140,000 and $170,000, respectively. To get similar output in a current gas-powered car, you’d be looking at a Lamborghini Revuelto, which is some $430,000 more expensive and tops out at a wimpy 218 mph. And the ZR1 is a savings of $1.5 million — give or take a couple hundred grand — versus the first hypercar with a four-figure output, the original modern-era Bugatti, the Veyron.

Pricing and Availability
That $174,995 price tag is for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 coupe; the retractable-hardtop convertible starts $10,000 higher at $184,995. The base trim is the 1LZ, which includes power-adjustable seats, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-speaker Bose sound system and a rearview mirror camera, since the view aft is blocked by a spine of cooling vents for the mid-mounted engine.
For $185,995 (coupe) or $195,995 (convertible), buyers can upgrade to the 3LZ trim, which adds heated and ventilated front seats, a front camera to help avoid scraping the nose, four more speakers, and leather for the seats, dash and doors. The Carbon Fiber Aero Package costs $8,495 and consists of a larger high-downforce rear wing, underbody aerodynamic elements, dive planes on the front end and a small upright spoiler in the middle of the hood. Buyers who spec the carbon-fiber pack can also tack on the $1,500 ZTK Performance Package, which adds a more aggressive suspension tune and track-ready Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.
Interested shoppers will want to set aside some cash fast. Chevrolet starts taking orders for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 next month.
