47,000 2021 Nissan Rogues Recalled for Car Seat Tether Anchors
The Nissan Rogue was redesigned for the 2021 model year, but the refinements have come with a recall that should concern child caregivers. More than 47,000 Rogue SUVs are currently under recall for faulty tether wires that could prevent a child-safety seat from being secured in the backseat.

The second-row upper tether wires may have been improperly welded to the seatback frame, preventing a car seat from being securely anchored. An insecurely anchored car seat can move during a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will inspect and replace the rear seatbacks, as necessary, for free. Nissan will begin notifying owners July 30, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 800-867-7669, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
