Chevrolet Resumes Sales of 2024 Blazer EV with a Massive Price Cut

Chevrolet has announced that it is ending its stop-sale order for the 2024 Blazer EV. The brand says it has made significant software updates to the electric SUV to fix issues that customers were having, which led to the company ordering a halt on sales earlier this year.

While Chevy isn’t detailing exactly what problems its software fix rectified, very public reports from various automotive outlets showed issues ranging from charging faults to multimedia system glitches. The software update will also reportedly bring some new features to the Blazer EV, including multicolor ambient lighting and new gauge-cluster display graphics for additional information like remaining battery percentage.

In addition to the resumption of sales, Chevy has announced that it’s also cutting prices dramatically on the Blazer EVs that are currently for sale and that all will once again qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit.
Three variants of the Blazer EV are currently offered up, and all will see their starting prices cut: The LT AWD drops by $6,520 to $50,195 (all prices include destination fee), and the RS AWD and RS RWD both drop by $5,620, to $54,595 and $56,170, respectively. The federal tax credit will drop those prices even more, if the customer is eligible to receive it.

We’re still waiting to hear the starting price for the base trim of the Blazer EV, the LT FWD, which Chevy says will start at under $50,000. Pricing for the remaining two trim levels, the RS FWD and the high-performance SS, is also to be determined and will be announced closer to the vehicles’ on-sale date, which we also don’t know yet.
