Affected model numbers include 518000385, 518002153, 518000387, 518002145, 518002149, 518002151 and 519000211, and all were manufactured between Nov. 3, 2017, and Aug. 31, 2018. The concern is that a child may pick pieces of foam from the child seat head restraint pad, which can present a choking hazard to a child, increasing the risk of injury.
To resolve the issue, Cybex parent company Columbus Trading-Partners will mail a kit with instructions on how to seal the head restraint foam for free. Owners will be notified May 9, but those with further questions can call Columbus Trading-Partners at 877-242-5676, or visit NHTSA’s website to check their vehicle identification number for other recalls and learn more.
