CARS.COM —Ford will unveil a new subcompact SUV at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, reports The Detroit News. The Ford EcoSport, currently on sale in markets outside the U.S., will be shown to the world at next week’s show, and finally make its way to the domestic market.
The EcoSport is a subcompact SUV currently built mostly for emerging markets like India and Brazil, but with the current craze of SUVs in the U.S. reaching a fever pitch, the company has decided to bring its own here. It’s the same size and segment as other tiny SUVs that have popped up here, like the Chevrolet Trax, Buick Encore, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3 and Jeep Renegade. It’s expected to be the smallest SUV in the Ford showroom when it eventually shows up.
Ford has confirmed that the SUV will be unveiled at the show but has not yet provided any details. Stay tuned for updates from the Los Angeles Auto Show next week for more information.
