With families come car seats. Which sedan handles them best? We performed Car Seat Checks on each 2018 model to find out which one does it better in terms of both fit and ease of installation.
2018 Honda Accord Car Seat Check
Honda’s mid-size sedan got a redesign for 2018, and the new Accord is longer and wider. For caregivers with kids in car seats, this translates to a more spacious cabin. The generous room coupled with easy-access Latch anchors helped the Accord score well in our Car Seat Check, but it didn’t quite earn straight A’s.

As if on cue, Toyota’s mid-size sedan also underwent a significant makeover. Aside from more aggressive styling and changes that enhance driving performance, the new model also gets a roomier backseat, helping it earn A’s across the board.
The Verdict
Both models accommodate two car seats very well thanks to ample legroom and exposed Latch anchors, which make connection a breeze. However, the Camry edged out the Accord in booster fit. The Accord gets a B in booster accommodation for its floppy buckles, which are more difficult for kids to grasp and use independently. The Camry’s rigid buckle stalks are easier to grasp and earn it an A in this category.
