Honda Teases New Accord for 2023

A new Honda Accord is coming for 2023. Today, Honda released three teaser images showing off a more angular grille and thinner headlights for an overall sleeker face.

We don’t yet know much about the 2023 Accord, but Honda said it “will bring excitement back to the mid-size sedan segment” and promises upgrades such as a more responsive hybrid powertrain, the automaker’s first integration of the Google Built-In infotainment system and the Accord’s largest-ever touchscreen at 12.3 inches.

Based on the teaser photo, the new screen will sit high on the dash like the outgoing version but is more recessed, and notably absent are the large tuning and volume knobs that flanked the prior screen. While a couple of other automakers, including GM and Volvo, are starting to implement the Google interface, it’s getting mixed reviews from Cars.com editors, so it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out in the Accord.

The current model gets power from a standard 192-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission or an available 252-hp, turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder that works with a 10-speed automatic. The hybrid drivetrain in the Accord Hybrid makes 212 hp total, and the sedan is EPA-rated as high as 47 mpg combined.

The Accord was last redesigned in 2018 and refreshed in 2021. The current 10th-generation Accord is one of America’s bestselling sedans, so the bar is high for the 11th generation model. Honda says the full reveal of the new 2023 Honda Accord will take place in November.
