How Do Car Seats Fit in a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder?

The verdict: Nissan’s people mover was redesigned for the 2022 model year, and 2023 saw some trim-level shuffling. For 2024, the Pathfinder three-row SUV carries over, and it earned straight A grades in our Car Seat Check thanks to easy-access Latch anchors and ample room.
Does it fit three car seats? No; we tested a model with second-row captain’s chairs.
Take a look at how the Latch system and each car seat scored below in our Car Seat Check of the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder.

Latch: Grade A
In the second row, there are two sets of lower anchors that are easy to access. Two top tether anchors sit midway down the seatback; they’re clearly marked and easy to use.
Infant Seat: Grade A
This seat was easy to install, and our 5-foot 7-inch front passenger had enough legroom in front of it.
Rear-Facing Convertible: Grade A
As with the infant seat, the rear-facing convertible went in easily and fit well.
Forward-Facing Convertible: Grade A
In the second row, the forward-facing convertible was easy to install and fit well. The Pathfinder’s second-row head restraints are removable, so the convertible fits flush against the seatback.
Booster Seat: Grade A
The booster also fit well in the second row thanks to the Pathfinder’s removable head restraints and wide, flat seats. The seat belt buckle sits low in the seat, but it’s stable and sticks up just enough for small hands to be able to grasp independently.
Third-Row Latch: Grade A
The third row has one set of lower anchors on the driver’s side, and they’re easy to find and use. There are three top tether anchors midway down the seatback; they’re also easy to find and use.
Third-Row Entry: Grade A
Getting to the third row is easy thanks to a button that tilts and slides the captain’s chairs. The walkway to the third row is wide.
Third-Row Forward-Facing Convertible: Grade A
We installed the forward-facing convertible on the driver’s side using the Latch anchors and it fit well, though second-row passengers should move up a bit to share legroom since there’s not much in the third row. The head restraint is removable, so the convertible sits flush against the seatback.
Third-Row Booster Seat: Grade A
The booster seat fit well in the third row. The head restraints are removable, so it sits flush against the seatback. The buckle is on a stable stalk and sits up just enough for kids to grasp and use independently.

About Cars.com’s Car Seat Checks
Editors Jennifer Geiger and Jennifer Newman are certified child safety seat installation technicians.
For the Car Seat Check, we use a Chicco KeyFit 30 infant-safety seat, a Graco Contender 65 convertible seat and Graco TurboBooster seat. The front seats are adjusted for a 6-foot driver and a shorter passenger. The three child seats are installed in the second row. The booster seat sits behind the driver’s seat, and the infant and convertible seats are installed behind the front passenger seat.
We also install the forward-facing convertible in the second row’s middle seat with the booster and infant seat in the outboard seats to see if three car seats will fit; a child sitting in the booster seat must be able to reach the seat belt buckle. If there’s a third row, we install the booster seat and a forward-facing convertible. Learn more about how we conduct our Car Seat Checks.
Parents should also remember that they can use the Latch system or a seat belt to install a car seat, and that Latch anchors have a weight limit of 65 pounds, including the weight of the child and the weight of the seat itself.
