Powertrain Specs and MPG

The 2026 Nissan Kicks uses a 141-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 140 pounds-feet of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels, though AWD is optional for all trims. Nissan says the Kicks gets the same EPA-rated 28/35/31 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 27/34/30 mpg with AWD as the 2025 model (official EPA estimates for 2026 are not yet available).

Trim Levels

The base Kicks S rides on 16-inch steel wheels. It now comes with the 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has two USB-C ports up front, but it’s pretty basic from there, with manually adjustable front seats, cloth upholstery, keyless start, and power locks and windows.

The mid-level SV trim rolls on 17-inch steel wheels and adds roof rails, wireless smartphone charging, and an available $300 Cold Weather Package that bundles heated front seats, heated side mirrors and rear floor heater ducts.

The top SR adds more advanced safety features, including lane departure steering assist, blind spot intervention, advanced forward collision warning that watches out for oncoming traffic during left turns, a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors and traffic-sign recognition. The SR also features 17-inch aluminum wheels (and available 19-inchers), upgraded LED headlights, synthetic leather upholstery with cloth inserts, six speakers instead of the standard four and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
