Hype What You Got: 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander to Start at $31,140

Mitsubishi is continuing its somewhat strange hype fest for the Outlander SUV’s mid-cycle refresh. It’s atypical for a company to create so much drama around a mere mid-cycle refresh, but it’s understandable as Mitsubishi has been thirsty for a hit. Not only did the Outlander account for nearly half of all Mitsubishis sold in the U.S. in 2024, but it was the compact SUV’s best sales year ever here.

The latest bit of info trickling out of Mitsubishi is the 2025 Outlander’s base price. Starting at $31,140 (including the $1,495 destination charge), it increases $1,065 from the 2024 model. That extra coin will net buyers retuned steering and suspension, fresh 18- and 20-inch wheel designs, and a tweaked grille, front bumper and taillights. In pursuit of greater refinement, the company stuffed its updated SUV with more sound deadening.

Mitsubishi seems to be taking a page from Hyundai and Kia in positioning the Outlander as a feature-packed value offering, with available heated and ventilated leather seats and a new 12-speaker Yamaha audio system. It’s also aping the Korean brands by pumping up the Outlander’s warranty, with five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain policy. Both of those intervals surpass the standard warranties of the segment-leading Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, and Mitsubishi will also match Toyota’s two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance.
The fuses are lit, and the show kicks off Feb. 24 with a full reveal of the updated 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander and its pricing. The company will begin taking orders shortly after.
