Some Annoying Concerns

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander SE AWD Have had the car for 11 months since new and overall it drives good but: -two recalls for back up camera and software -bad front suspension mounts that made annoying popping noise -bad steering rack and pinion that also made popping noise -front brake caliper noise that scored the rotor [states it could be from a small rock?] luckily the dealer had parts in stock but took over 7 hours to fix, as I waited.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander report

2023 outlander SE, now has 6500 miles on it. We bought it mostly because it was the best value, and a relative has one and recommended it. We love it, was concerned about power but it has plenty if not in the fuel saving mode..which got us 36mpg highway. Took awhile to get used to all the safety features, but in short they are great. We’ve used all seven seats a couple of times, the back two are ok for short trips, but that was expected. They fold away nicely. Paint was perfect, it’s some kind of white diamond, looks different depending on sunlight. There are a lot of sw driven options, could be confusing for older non-sw savvy folks. We have only used service for one issue, which turned out to be a user configurable issue (lane encroachment warning). It was working as designed, also the cruise control front vehicle avoidance was a pleasant surprise. Love this vehicle. We live on a pot hole filled dirt road, vehicle taking it well so far. It does have a stiff suspension, noticeable on our dirt road, but fine on paved roads. It is the all wheel drive version, we’ll see how it handles snow soon. Oh, ground clearance is decent, not too low. We do not have the on board guidance system, but can use apple play. Wife would have preferred this option. Another good surprise, it e-mails us notifications of warnings on the dash board, like “low tire pressure”. Cool. One last thing, we very seldom see another one on the road. Odd…this is a great vehicle.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander review: Our expert's take

By Carl Malek

Mitsubishi is celebrating 40 years of being in the U.S. market with the unveiling of a 40th Anniversary Edition trim for its 2023 Outlander and Outlander PHEV SUVs. The special-edition trim brings some styling changes to make it stand out from other Outlander trims and starts at $41,715 (all pricing includes a $1,345 destination charge).

The 40th Anniversary Edition’s exterior styling carries over the core theme from the standard Outlander but adds a trim-exclusive coat of Black Diamond paint, a contrasting bronze color for the roof and 40th Anniversary badges. It builds on the SEL Premium Package and, as a result, features a healthy amount of upscale interior amenities, including leather seats, a head-up display and a Bose premium audio system. The special edition also adds door and cargo scuff plates, Dynamic Shield and center console illumination, a chrome hood emblem, and a rear bumper protector.

Performance for the 40th Anniversary Edition is dependent on which Outlander model it’s equipped to, but gas-powered models have a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 181 horsepower, and the plug-in Outlander uses a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors to make a combined 248 hp. All-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission are standard on both versions.
