It’s unusual for an automaker to tease a mid-cycle refresh, but it’s been a while since Mitsubishi had a hit. That’s what the current Outlander SUV (which is based on the Nissan Rogue) is, accounting for nearly half of Mitsubishi’s sales. Following our first in-person experience with the current generation, we called it “sophisticated” and said it deserves to be on your shopping list — so don’t expect dramatic change when Mitsubishi debuts the refreshed Outlander in February.

The brand does say it’s “directly addressing the voice of existing customers” with styling updates and revisions aimed at improving the seven-occupant compact SUV’s driving manners. We were so impressed with the Outlander’s cabin after that first encounter that we described it as “the winterior,” but Mitsubishi promises the updated Outlander will feature new colors, a revised center console and a “significantly upgraded” audio system developed with help from Yamaha.

As the Rogue it shares its structure with isn’t massively overhauled for 2025, the refreshed Outlander should otherwise carry over. We’ll see for certain in February when the SUV and its pricing are revealed in full.
