Usually, the higher the horsepower of the car, the more you’re going to have to pony up to get your hands on one. But Dodge is enticing horsepower junkies with its new “Power Dollars” sales promotion: Starting today, the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles-owned brand is offering customers a $10-per-hp cash allowance on 2019 Dodge Challengers, Chargers and Durangos.

It may not seem like a lot on its own, but $10 per horsepower adds up to a big chunk of change considering the engines Dodge puts in some of its vehicles. The least money you could save is $2,920 on the 292-hp 2019 Dodge Charger SXT, the starting price of which is $30,965 (all prices include destination). Cash allowance on the top-trim Durango SRT is $4,750.

When you get up into the Hellcat models of the Challenger and Charger, the discount is even greater. The 2019 Charger SRT Hellcat’s 707-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 will get you $7,070 off the $67,290 starting price. And the biggest rebate available is on the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, of which the 6.2-liter V-8 will get you 797 hp and a $7,970 cash allowance that knocks more than 10 percent off its price tag.

Unfortunately for those in the market for a Grand Caravan minivan or a Journey SUV, the discount does not apply. According to Claire Carroll, Chrysler and Dodge SRT product communications manager, Dodge intends to run this incentive through the end of 2019 but will monitor sales on a month-to-month basis.
