Honda’s latest recall affects nearly 1.2 million examples of its Odyssey, Passport and Pilot models. The culprit is a cable connector that may prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on the center display.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2018-23 Odyssey minivans, and model-year 2019-23 Passport and model-year 2019-22 Pilot SUVs. A media-oriented systems transport communication coaxial cable connector that was improperly manufactured may cause the rearview camera to have a poor or lost connection, increasing the risk of a crash.
As a fix, dealers will replace the MOST cable harness and install a straightening cover over the cable connector, as necessary, for free. Honda will begin notifying owners July 24, but those with further questions in the meantime can call the automaker at 888-234-2138 (Honda’s numbers for this recall are EEL and ZEM), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
