Vehicles Affected: Approximately 12,000 model-year 2016 Nissan Titan XD pickup trucks manufactured between Aug. 7, 2015 and Sept. 1, 2016
The Problem: A temporary fuel tank breather cap may not have been removed during assembly and the fuel tank breather tube may not have been connected to the bed rail, possibly restricting proper ventilation and causing the fuel gauge to read incorrectly. If the gauge reads incorrectly, the vehicle can run out of fuel without the driver being aware, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the fuel tank breather tube and replace the fuel tank, fuel sending unit and fuel tank breather tube, as necessary, for free.
