Ram offers buyers of its 2023 1500 Rebel pickup just four color choices: black, white, red and dark red. But a fifth choice — wait until the color you want is offered on a special edition — is a pretty reliable one for the brand, too. Case in point: Having just announced Rebel and TRX Lunar Editions in a ceramic gray, Ram today revealed a yellow Rebel Havoc Edition.

The Rebel Havoc Edition is like the chromatically identical limited-run TRX Ram debuted in December. Other than the visual assault of its searing yellow paint, though, it’s minimally chaotic. Start with a Rebel, add the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine and the Rebel Level 2 Equipment Group (which includes a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, heated front seats and steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals and a host of other goodies), paint it all Baja Yellow and you’re, um, golden. The 1500 Rebel Havoc Edition also adds Rebel graphics on the truck’s hood and bed, black bumpers and grille, black badges and 18-inch gloss-black wheels.
Stickering at $72,205 (price includes $1,895 destination), the Havoc Edition commands roughly $9,000 more than a similarly equipped Rebel that isn’t yellow. Ram says the Rebel Havoc Edition will be available later in the spring in “extremely limited quantities.” Unless the equinox has shifted (the astronomical phenomenon, not the Chevrolet crossover), that gives you about a month before all Havocs break loose.
