In addition to our monthly report for March on the best new-car deals industrywide, we’re also focusing this month on deals for mid-size three-row SUVs, vehicles for families who want space for people and cargo — but in an SUV configuration rather than a minivan. Excluding luxury brands and big truck-based SUVs, this class includes such seven- and eight-seat vehicles as the Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Volkswagen Atlas, Subaru Ascent, Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango, Mazda CX-9, Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder and Honda Pilot.

Alternatively, creditworthy shoppers can get 0% financing for up to 36 months or 0.9% for up to 60 months through Nissan’s finance unit, plus a $2,750 cash discount.
Dodge is offering discounts of 4-10% on 2020 Durangos depending on your region. The discounts for most markets we surveyed are $2,500 for V-6 models, $3,250 for 5.7-liter V-8 models and $3,500 on 6.4-liter V-8 models, though at least one region is offering $3,250 on the V-6 Durangos and $4,000 on the smaller V-8. A caveat: To get the maximum savings illustrated here, you’ll have to finance through Dodge’s parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Alternatively, creditworthy shoppers in some markets can get 0% financing for 36 months through Dodge’s in-house finance unit, plus a $1,250 to $2,000 cash discount depending on region.
Ford is offering discounts of 3-10% on 2020 Explorers depending on your region. The discounts mostly are $2,750 to $3,500 on the midrange XLT and Limited trim levels, and a $1,750 to $3,500 discount on the base Explorer as well as on the high-end Platinum and high-performance ST trim levels. The Explorer had the most variation by region surveyed among the best three-row SUV discounts this month, so you’ll want to check yours on Ford’s website to get specifics for your location and the trim level for which you are shopping.

Remember, our numbers are current as of publication for the markets we survey (generally Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles and New York). They reflect advertised customer discounts, not unadvertised factory-to-dealer cash. Incentives may vary by region, trim level or equipment; automakers may also change them later in the month. In sum: Your discounts may vary, so check the automaker’s consumer website under your ZIP code and also check with your local dealer for specifics.
